Cardiol C Drops 40g

Cardiol C is a drug in the form of drops for oral administration, traditionally used in states of rapid fatigue. The drops combine hawthorn, valerian and lily of the valley tinctures, kola seed extract and caffeine. The drug can be used during initial impaired heart failure, which does not require the use of other drugs and does not cause symptoms of circulatory stasis. Cardiol C drops are also recommended in the case of weakening of the heart muscle in the elderly.

Intended Use

In functional heart disorders, vascular and motor neuroses, myocardial weakness, paroxysmal palpitations, narrowing of coronary vessels, senile and atherosclerotic changes. Also in states of psychosomatic exhaustion, during convalescence, in respiratory disorders.

Composition

100g of the drug contains:

• active ingredients: Crataegi cum Valerianae tinctura (1:4, 0-4.5), extractant ethanol 70% (v/v) 40 g, Convallariae tinctura titrata (1:4, 0-4.5), extractant ethanol 70% (v/v) 27 g, Colae seminis extractum (1:2), extractant 70% (v/v) 14 g, coffeinum 72 mg,
• excipient: ethanol 70% (v/v).

1 ml (equivalent to 910 mg) of the product contains 360 mg of hawthorn and valerian tincture (1:4.0-4.5), 250 mg of lily of the valley tincture (1:4.0-4.5), 130 mg of kola seeds and 0.655 mg of caffeine.

Effects

The preparation increases the strength of myocardial contraction and reduces the frequency of its contractions. It reduces the tension of smooth muscles in blood vessels and internal organs. It improves venous circulation, prevents venous stasis. It is also diuretic.

Dosage

• Adults: dilute 20-40 drops in a glass of water, use 2 to 3 times a day. It is permissible to increase the dose to 60 drops at a time.
• Adolescents: over 12 years of age: dilute 15 – 25 drops in a glass of water, use 2 to 3 times a day.
• If you take more Cardiol C than you should, see your doctor immediately.

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Take the drug orally, after a meal. If you miss a dose, do not take a double dose to make up for it.

Contraindications

Do not use the drug if you are hypersensitive to any component of the drug.

Storage

Store below 25°C, out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the label after EXP. Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use. Such behavior will help to protect the environment.

Side Effects

• Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
• So far, no side effects have been reported when using Cardiol C oral drops.

Interactions with other drugs

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you are taking, have recently taken, or plan to use.

Warnings and precautions

• The drug contains up to 69% V/V ethanol.
• Each dose of 40 drops (2 ml) contains 1.25 g of ethanol, which is equivalent to 32 ml beer, 13 ml wine per dose.
• To be taken into account in pregnant or breast-feeding women, children and high-risk groups such as patients with liver disease or epilepsy.
• In the case of edema caused by heart failure, stronger cardiac agents should be used after consulting a doctor.

Kids

• Do not use in children under 12 years of age.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility

• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
• The use of the drug in pregnant and lactating women is not recommended, as no controlled clinical trials have been performed in this group of patients.
• Effects on fertility are unknown.

Driving and using machines

• The product contains up to 69% V/V of ethanol (ethyl alcohol) and valerian root tincture.
• Each dose of 40 drops (2 ml) contains 1.25 g of ethanol, which is equivalent to 32 ml of beer, 13 ml of wine per dose, therefore it may impair the ability to drive and use machines, as well as impair psychomotor skills (swimming, working at high altitude ) and increase the tendency to fall asleep.
• It is not recommended for drivers to take the preparation before traveling in the period of about an hour after taking it.
